Do you feel stuck in a rut?

Do you need someone to talk to who will listen without judgement?

About Me

Hello and Welcome. I am Catherine, an Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor with a person- centred core. As a fully qualified and insured member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), I offer a range of therapy modalities to suit the unique needs of my clients. Whether you prefer face-to-face, online, or telephone sessions, I am here to support you. Based in Ossett, West Yorkshire, I provide a safe, welcoming and confidential space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings.

Alongside my private practice, my most recent roles involve working within a hospice setting, offering specialist bereavement support. In addition to working at a charity dedicated to supporting victims of domestic abuse.

At the heart of my counselling practice is an empowering relationship where clients feel supported, understood and equipped to lead their own journey.

My Background

As someone who has faced personal challenges, I am passionate about helping others overcome their own obstacles too. I know how overwhelming it can feel to confront life’s difficulties, and I believe that no one should have to manage alone. This, combined with my genuine compassion and desire to help others, inspired me to train as a counsellor.

My experience in mental health extends beyond the counselling field, with over 10 years experience as a Social Worker, enabling me to effectively support individuals facing a wide range of personal struggles. I have experience of working with people when they feel most vulnerable, to listen deeply, ask the right questions, and create a space for individuals to express themselves.

It is both my passion and privilege to walk beside others on their journey toward healing, recognising that we all, at times, need a little extra help to navigate life's challenges!

"We don't have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to".

What I offer

In a world that never seems to slow down, it’s all too easy to lose sight of our own needs. Yet, by setting time aside for yourself, we can rediscover what is important to you and place value on your personal growth and well-being.

Counselling is a therapeutic talking process that can help you make sense of your world. It’s a journey unique to you, and I am here to accompany you as we explore your thoughts, experiences, and emotions together.

Perhaps, you're unsure what's holding you back or why you are feeling stuck, that's completely okay. Sometimes, the things that hold us back are hard to identify on our own. Life's challenges can feel heavy and overwhelming, from dealing with anxiety and depression, to struggles with self- esteem, relationships, or processing loss. Whatever brings you here, I am here to offer support and help you find your path forward.

My approach is integrative with a person- centred focus, which means that you are at the heart of what we do, our sessions are all about you, my client. I recognise that you are the expert in your own life. During our work together I will draw on various therapeutic modalities to meet your unique needs and goals. These approaches may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis and Mindfulness. I recognise that talking is not always a good fit for everyone, therefore I also work creatively with clients to encourage them to express themselves.

At the heart of my work is a genuine desire to help you thrive. Together, we will work to uncover the root causes of your struggles, develop effective coping strategies, and foster a greater sense of self – awareness. Through our journey together, I will guide you toward a happier, more empowered life, helping you discover newfound strength, clarity, and confidence along the way.
